July, it gets hot and the Midwest celebrates summer while Isabel starts wilting, getting cranky and pining for Fall.  Apparently her Lebanese roots were soundly defeated by her Anglo-Saxon half when it comes to climate.

A friend sent me a link one day recently to photographs of Pictured Rocks State Park.  I was flabbergasted.  Who knew there were Caribbean views in Michigan's Upper Peninsula?  I was so charmed by the beauty, that very same day I booked a weekend trip, gas prices be damned.  I can't wait!

Other than that, I'm knitting a sweater, gardening (wondering how I got to sounding so dull), and desperately trying to fit writing around kid activities.

I think there should be a chain of special co-op spas for Moms.  Pay a one-time fee for training, and then each member can give massages and facials and whatnot, or answer phones or do laundry or whatever.  For every hour you spend serving, you'd get an hour of spa services back.

Hmmm, maybe there's a book idea in there somewhere . . .

What do you think?
